The robot - Blinky
A legend from a bygone era, now reborn. Blinky goes faster, scores higher and looks even more spooky.
With a vortex MaxSwerve, 2 stage elevator, 270 degree arm and high speed intake/end-effector Blinky has it all. Removing algae or Scoring coral? Blinky drives right in and gets to it.
Subsystems
Lift subsystem
The lift can move to various positions required in the game Reefscape.
The lift is composed of several stages. stage 0 is attached to the robot and serves as the outer frame. Stage 1 is in the middle frame and is driven by a chain that pulls the frame up. Stage 2 is the inner frame and is hoisted up simultaneously with stage 1 through a cascading effect using a rope
Arm subsystem
The arm moves with a Neo motor at the bottom of stage 2. the chain runs upwards with a reduction for the drive. The motor is located at the bottom for a lower center of gravity.
Powertrain subsystem
All electronics are placed in the powertrain. Each corner of the frame has a modified MaxSwerve module. These modules are powered by two motors. A Vortex is used for translation, and a Neo 550 for rotation. With a width and length of only 575mm this robot can easily be called a small robot.
End-Effector subsystem
The intake wheels are 3-inch wheels that ensure coral is pulled in and shot out to score. We also use a funnel to speed up the collection of coral, requiring less precision.
To make it easier for the drivers to score, a camera at the back of the end-effector looks through the coral at the reef, as if looking through a tunnel. Hence the name Tunnelvision.
Bumper subsystem
Our bumper is a reversible bumper that allows us to switch alliances quickly and efficiently. This gives us more time to relax between matches. We can also easily lift the robot with the bumper using detachable hooks.

Week 1 - AZ North
How did we play?
On practice day we were enjoying ourselves and we enjoyed having Blinky drive around and trying him out on a real field. After a snow storm cut our day short and forced us home early we went to bed unsure about the rest of the regional. Luckily we got to play the remainder of the regional, it was incredibly fun and we managed to place 23rd even after a few setbacks with Blinky.
We were invited to play alongside #1212 Sentinels & #3009 High Scalers in the playoffs. We played 2 fun matches alongside them unfortunately ending our regional
During the award ceremony we were honored with the Team Sustainability award, showing the team what their efforts reaped.
Week 2 - AZ East
How did we play?
This week, we had built a new arm for Blinky, as the last one had a few issues. We competed in the Arizona East regional, located in Phoenix, and had a lot of fun. unfortunately, our robot had some issues, so we placed 35th, and didn’t make the playoffs.
During the award ceremony we were honored with the Industrial design award.
